The idea for this started as the founder was looking for her first orthodox cross at Christmas time as a catechumen. She was unable to find an orthodox cross that was in English. As a convert this seemed odd with as many countries that speak English and have orthodox parishes. As she was preparing herself for her Life Confession, she felt called to make crosses in her own native language. This seemed crazy, but spoke to her priest about it. With approval from her priest and her Bishop, the company was formed. Her 18 year background as a jeweler, production coordinator and Graduate Gemologist finally found God's purpose. Expecting this to be a side job along with her "day job" she accepted this new role. However, as the saying goes "we make plans and God laughs". Through the life changes that sometimes come with God's redirection, it was soon found to be her main focus.
Phase One was to create good quality stone and silver prayer bracelets. The founder has seen so many things happen through the power of prayer. She is never without her prayer bracelets! This first step is helping to fund the production of the Silver crosses.
What lies ahead? It is the hopes and prayers of the founder to expand the silver crosses into other languages. So that just like the bible being translated into languages to reach people, our crosses will serve as a daily reminder in their native tongue. The Orthodox Christian faith is for all peoples.
